Sicily - Cefalù

On day 3, we visited a little town set on the northern coastline of the island. Cefalù was by far the most beautiful place we've visited during our stay in Sicily. The charming curvy alleyways, which date from the Roman time, led us down to the lovely sandy beaches and picturesque panorama of the seacoast. There were plenty of restaurants that serve delicious local seafood, many of which had a large outside terrace overlooking the rocks below, so that you could enjoy your dinner while staring at the clear turquoise sea. After walking along the Tyrrhenian sea, we planted ourselves on a wooden bench on Piazza Duomo, at the base of the central cathedral in Cefalù. Accompanied by an Italian sun flare and shaded by palm trees, we enjoyed trying different tastes of gelato (oh, the intensity of flavour!) from the tons of gelateria located there. Cefalù, a wonderful seaside town with magical scenery.
